Beef Burgers With Sauteed Mushrooms, Onions & Peppers (Gluten-Free)

Burgers belong with summer, and one of my favorite ways to have them is with sauteed vegetables on top.

Beef Burger with Sauteed Peppers & Onion -- Gluten-Free

Gluten-Free Beef Burger with Sauteed Peppers & Onion -- Sorry, but the mushrooms didn't get into this picture!

Usually my husband eats this with regular buns.  If I have a gluten-free bun, I’ll use it, but if not, this is good by itself, just the meat with the sauteed, seasoned vegetables on top.

If I use olive oil instead of  butter, this will also be lactose-free.

Beef Burgers With Sauteed Mushrooms, Onions & Peppers – Gluten-Free

1 Pound Ground Beef, Lean

1/2 Teaspoon Garlic Salt, or Garlic Powder

1/4 Teaspoon Pepper

1/4 Teaspoon Dried Parsley

4 Hamburger Buns, GF

Sauteed Vegetables:

1 Teaspoon Butter, or Olive Oil

1 Cup Mushrooms, Sliced

2 Slices Onion

1 Half Green Pepper, Sliced

1/4 Teaspoon Salt, or Seasoned Salt, to taste

1/8 Teaspoon Pepper, or to taste

1. Combine ground beef, garlic salt, pepper and dried parsley.  Form into patties.

2. Grill or pan-fry over medium-high heat for 4 to 6 minutes on each side for medium doneness, 6 to 8 minutes for medium-well.

3. While meat is cooking, heat butter or oil  in a medium skillet over low heat.  Add onion; cook and stir until almost tender.  Add green pepper and mushroom slices.  Continue cooking until vegetables are tender, stirring frequently.  Add the salt (or Seasoned Salt) and pepper to taste.

4. Put meat on bottom half of bun, top with vegetables and top half of bun.

      Greetings from Ohio, USA!

Thanks for your suggestion — I’m still working on having my camera and this burger together at the same time. The colorful vegetables do make it attractive, besides all the nutrition they add.

That’s a great idea to put the vegetables on top if you’re not using a bun. Thanks for participating in Gluten-Free Wednesdays.
