Here is a depiction of the damage caused by celiac disease to the wall of the small intestine of a sufferer… Not all gluten-free individuals have celiac disease but everyone with celiac disease is gluten intolerant…Celiac Damage to Small Intestine Wall
Almost everybody in the United States, Europe and other Western culture countries has heard of “gluten-free.” But. many have no idea what gluten-free actually is or why it is so important. Because of that, you may be wondering exactly “What is gluten-free?”
I’d like to answer that question for you.
Exactly what is gluten-free?
Gluten-free is the term usually applied to a food or a beverage, cosmetics, medicines and other products which DOES NOT contain a substance called “gluten.”
Gluten is a substance found in all parts of wheat, barl…
This is a no crust-quiche, but, you could certainly bake it in a crust — if you want the carbs and the extra work — but it doesn’t need the crust to be delicious.
On the flip side, I know my husband really enjoys a Quiche baked in a light, fluffy crust… He thinks it’s an outstanding breakfast or luncheon treat.
And, he’s right!
It is outstanding…
… This quiche is actually a whole meal in one dish – protein, fiber and low-carb too! Plus, it has plenty of healthy, veggies in it… And, besides being gluten-free and low-carb, it’s also vegetarian.
And, don’t forget, it has antioxidants galore!!!
There are quite a few delicious recipes for gluten free deserts out there. But, this one is one of my all-time favorites. I don’t like some of the gluten free cupcakes I’ve tried but this recipe for gluten free chocolate cupcakes outshines any others that I’ve eaten!
A moist, rich chocolate flavor, accented with crunch inside from the 2 tablespoons of Cacao Nibs (13 g.) and pecans on top, make these paleo, gluten-free chocolate cupcakes a snack or dessert that’s hard to keep on hand.
In fact, they keep disappearing when my husband is around to the point that I now hide them to make them harder to find so he doesn’t eat them up before I pack my lunches for the week…
… And, he doesn’t usually like gluten free anything. So, I know these paleo cupcakes must be a real treat.
My NEW Gluten-Free Broiled Chicken Breast Recipe…
… hot… Hot… HOT! From The Oven
Yesterday, my husband and I decided that we would create a brand-spank’n-new gluten-free, broiled chicken breast recipe. At first, we were thinking about doing something “beefy,” but we very quickly decided that a brand-new chicken recipe was more along the lines of what we were hungry for.
Personally, I was hungry for a broiled chicken breast “thing” that was unusual as well as tender and delicious!
What we came up with was so tender it could be cut with a fork and was so delicious with the contrasting textures and blended, mellow flavors that it would almost be sacrilegious to try to describe how marvelous it tasted.
Hope you enjoy it as much as we did!
