Gluten-Free Diet Menu Plan for the Week of December 16, 2012

These recipes are ideal for a gluten-free diet menu plan. They’re dishes that I make and eat and that my family likes to eat, too, even though they’re don’t have to be gluten-free like I do. Three of these dinners are 30 minute meals to keep things short and sweet, and there’s a slow cooker meal for one night.

Since the holiday season is here, I’ve gone overboard with baked goodies every day this week — except one of them is not baked, although it is definitely a goodie. That’s the Almond Bark with Dried Cherries.

Enjoy!

Gluten-Free Diet Menu Plan for the Week of November 18, 2012, especially Thanksgiving Dinner

With Thanksgiving dinner on Thursday this will be a busy week for many of us. For that day in this gluten free diet menu plan I’ve included a traditional meal of Turkey Breast in the Crockpot, Gravy, Mashed Potatoes, Cornbread Stuffing, Glazed Yams, Cranberry Sauce, two kinds of pie and a loaf of pumpkin bread. This will be a totally gluten-free Thanksgiving dinner.

For the other days this week I have featured gluten-free recipes from other bloggers. Cooking these recipes will be a little like having their creators visit so the whole week will be like a party for me. I hope you enjoy them, too.

Easy Banana Bread Recipe

This easy banana bread recipe has been a favorite of ours for a long time. We like it every season of the year, and we especially like to have some for gluten-free snacks.

It tastes good alone, but it also is great with a flavored spread like apple butter or pumpkin cream. If I cut regular slices from the loaf like you see in the picture, they are so good to eat plain that we often don’t even think of adding something to them before the whole loaf is gone…especially if I leave it where my husband can see it.

Gluten-Free Diet Menu Plan for the Week of November 11, 2012

Well, I’m back in the saddle again now that the election is over. I’ve included several of my family’s favorites in this week’s plan for your enjoyment.

Shrimp Gumbo hits the deck first in this week’s gluten-free diet menu plan. Not only is it a family favorite (except for my youngest who doesn’t like okra) but it’s also one of the four 30 minute meals that I’ve included to make the week a bit easier for us.

Along that vein, (Get it? de VEINed Shrimp… ha-ha… No? Oh, well… it’s been a tough couple of weeks…), there is also an easy Slow Cooker Meal of Classic Beef Stew highlighted by cabbage wedges in great, seasonal produce form.

Seasonal vegetables dress up the Roasted Pork Loin — Brussels sprouts and cubed acorn squash. My favorite side dish this week is the Sweet Black Thai Rice that joins the roast pork for dinner on the 4th day.

Gluten-Free Diet Menu Plan for the Week of October 28, 2012

Today’s gluten-free diet menu plan starts with Cabbage Rolls. It’s really easy to double the recipe and have plenty for lunches later in the week.

The next day features one of the three 30 minute meals in this week’s menu plan — Sauteed Chicken Breasts complemented by rice and spinach with mushrooms.

I think this is a great meal for when I’m pressed for time. I can actually put this meal on the table in about 20 minutes if I have some cooked rice leftover in the refrigerator.

And, I like this meal even more because, if I’m cooking it for kids, I can…
